We operate a residential facility in the Curry County area. The location is confidential and we maintain policies to keep the residence safe. The facility is small, homelike and is supervised 24-hours a day. Most clients are admitted for 30 days with an extension of up to 2 weeks possible.
Clients admitted to shelter must meet basic qualifications. These qualifications involve the client's status as an adult (over age 18, emancipated minor or minor with dependent children) and must be experiencing some form of abuse by a current or former household member. |

Our hotline is staffed 24-hours a day, 7 days every week. Callers are connected with a trained volunteer or professional staff member who will assess his or her situation. Crisis intervention involves assisting the caller to seek some sense of safety and security.
Callers are screened for eligibility and offered shelter services appropriate for their circumstances including, but not limited to safe shelter; legal, medical and other referrals, non-residential domestic violence advocacy for themselves and their families; and information or support rendered over the telephone. Callers may remain anonymous depending on the level of service required. |
Although we do not provide permanent housing or medical care for clients, we sometimes know people who do. We help our clients with referrals to sources for housing assistance.
We provide referrals to the most appropriate providers we can in order to assist our clients pursue independent functioning. Contact us for more information.

Being a victim of domestic abuse is a lonely thing. Perpetrators will tell you that you are all alone and nobody can or will help you. Victims need support. The Hartley House offers a support group for survivors to get together, tell their stories, compare notes and help one another recover. The group is open to those who need it and meets on Thursday evenings. |
